With over 20 years of experience in the beauty industry, Viviana Martin brings an artist’s spirit to her role as Director of Pro-Artist Relations and Global Artistry for Kevyn Aucoin. Since joining the brand in 2013, Martin has married her passion for technique with a drive to bring the Kevyn’s legacy to life and to women around the world.
From a young age, Martin knew that makeup artistry was her calling. At the age of 16 she enrolled in Cosmetology School, realizing her true purpose when she saw how beautiful women felt from simply enhancing their look with a little color. When she had a chance meeting with Kevyn Aucoin in the late 1990’s during one of his book signings, Viviana was instantly inspired to master the techniques he had written about and would ultimately be remembered for.
In 1999, celebrity makeup artist and founder of Stila Cosmetics, Jeanine Lobell, recognized Martin’s talented work, and offered her an opportunity to start her career as a counter manager. Soon after, Martin was quickly promoted to one of Stila’s first Pro Artists and was instrumental in bringing the brand’s look to life backstage at Fashion Week.
Viviana has also embarked on her own, developing looks with her celebrity clientele, like Nick Cannon, the Jonas Brothers, Fergie, Eva Mendes, Nicole Scherzinger, and Carmen Electra among others.
Today, Martin acts as the Senior artist for all Kevyn Aucoin brand campaigns and leads backstage beauty for New York Fashion Week shows including Lela Rose, Rebecca Minkoff and Claire Pettibone, to name a few. In her role as brand ambassador, Viviana has been featured in such publications as Allure, Byrdie, Harper’s Bazaar, Huffington Post, and New Beauty and has acted as a feature artist on Home and Family’s glam squad.
First and foremost, Viviana continues to take her first piece of advice from Kevyn Aucoin with her, which is keeping a kind and humble attitude while pursuing her dreams.
